Abstract
The standing-travelling wave boundary condition (STWBC) is presented for th e truncation of the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) grid. This new bou ndary condition represents an improvement over the perfectly matched layer (PML) and the one way wave absorbing boundary condition (ABC) in that it in cludes no additional absorbing region, no field splitting, and is composed of simple FDTD updating expressions. Numerical results demonstrate the stab ility and efficiency of this new boundary condition.
