Abstract
A novel adjustable coupled two-cavity allpass filter has been realised for the dispersion slope compensation of optical fibres. The filter gives varia ble compensation between -2.0 and -15.5ps(3) over a bandwidth between 3.6 a nd 1.2nm, respectively. The filter performance agrees quite well with that predicted by existing theory.
