Abstract
Einstein's equations with variable gravitational and cosmological "constant s" are considered in the presence of bulk viscosity for a Bianchi type I mo del in a way which conserves the energy momentum tensor. Several solutions are found, one of which corresponds to the earlier solution found by Tarkes hwar Singh et al. for the isotropic case. Our approach is compared with tha t of Arbab.
