New experimental results for the solubility of hydrogen sulfide in aqueous
solutions of the single salts sodium sulfate, ammonium sulfate, sodium chlo
ride, and ammonium chloride at temperatures from 313 to 393 K and total pre
ssures up to 10 MPa are reported. As in the salt-free system, a second-hydr
ogen sulfide-rich-liquid phase is observed at high hydrogen sulfide concent
rations. A model to describe the phase equilibrium is presented. Calculatio
ns are compared to the new experimental data.
