Abstract
Monoionized-4,6-benzylidine-alpha-D-mannopyranoside has afforded an effecti vely square pyramidal alkoxide-coordinated VO3+ ester, the benzoylhydrazone of salicylaldehyde being the coligand. Intermolecular O(alcoholic)... O(ox o) hydrogen bonding generates a helical pattern in the crystal lattice.
