Wk. Choi et al., Electrolytic removal of Ag(I) in the liquid wastes generated from the mediated electrochemical oxidation process, J NUC SCI T, 37(2), 2000, pp. 173-179
The electrolytic removal of Ag(I) on a platinum rotating cylindrical electr
ode (RCE) in the liquid wastes generated from the mediated electrochemical
oxidation (MEO) process was studied under a constant current. The effects o
f various parameters such as applied current density, concentration of HNO3
, temperature and hydrodynamics on the removal efficiency and the morpholog
y of the electrodeposits were investigated. The removal efficiency higher t
han 98% could be obtained in the concentrations of HNO3 less than 3 M (=mol
/dm(3)) with the current efficiency more than about 95%. At lower concentra
tions of HNO3, higher rotational rates, and lower temperatures, larger remo
val efficiency could be obtained.
