Infrared absorption cross-section and integrated absorption intensities of
HFC-125 (pentafluoroethane) and HFC-143a (1,1,1-trifluoroethane) vapour hav
e been calculated from their infrared spectra in the region 500-1400 and 70
0-1500 cm(-1) for HCF-125 and HCF-143a, respectively. Spectra have been rec
orded by means of a Fourier transform spectrometer at a maximum resolution
of 0.03 cm(-1) at six temperatures in the range 203-293 K on the pure vapou
r and air mixtures at total pressures of 50, 200 and 800 hPa. A comparison
between results obtained in this work and all the data reported previously
in the literature has been reported. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rig
