S. Mizokami et al., INTERMITTENCY IN THE SOLUTION OF THE COMPLEX GINZBURG-LANDAU EQUATIONUNDER PINNING CONTROL, Physica. A, 239(1-3), 1997, pp. 227-234
We have observed spatio-temporal intermittency in two-dimensional patt
erns obtained from simulations of the complex Ginzburg-Landau equation
(CGLE) under pinning control. Pinning is applied to selected local si
tes to control spatio-temporal chaos in slightly disordered systems. W
e obtained concentric circular patterns, which are stable or in some c
ases intermittent, as a result of this control. Effectiveness of the p
inning control strongly depends on the pinning density.
