Polycoccum epizoharyi Calatayud & V. Atienza, a lichenicolous fungus growin
g in thalli of Buellia zoharyi Galun, is described as a new species from ce
ntral Spain (Madrid). It is chiefly characterised by producing galls in the
host thallus, by its 4-spored asci and, to some extent, by a I+ violet rea
ction of the hymenial gelatine. The characters of the new taxon are discuss
ed in relation to other species of the genus.
