Abstract
The spectrum of platinum is studied in the region from 250 to 1250 Angstrom . The twenty-two 5d6s-5d6p spectral lines of the PtIX are assigned. All lev els of the 5d6s configuration are found. The assignment of the previously k nown 5d6p levels is confirmed and their positions are refined. The 5d(2) 5d 6s, and 5d6p configurations are theoretically described by the method of or thogonal operators. These calculations are compared with the data obtained by a conventional method using the Cowan program. (C) 2000 MAIK "Nauka/Inte rperiodica".
