Abstract
In this paper, we have studied experimentally the photorefractive light-ind uced scattering of three samples of LiNbO3:Fe,Mg, LiNbO3:Fe,In, LiNbO3:Fe,Z n, and we compare them with those obtained from Fe-doped LiNbO3, crystal in order to get better understanding of the physical mechanism. The doping th e LiNbO3 crystal with suitable concentration of Fe and damage-resistant dop ants will reduce the concentration of Fe ions on the Li sites, which will r esult in the suppression of the photorefractive light-induced scattering an d increase of the so-called threshold light intensity. We demonstrated the advantage of the fanning-noise-free double-doped photorefractive LiNbO3 cry stals for the three-dimension storage. This method to suppress the fanning noise is very simple and convenient to practice.
