Abstract
Kikuchi bands observed in transmission electron microscopy of crystalline a pproximants to quasicrystals differ from those observed from the quasicryst als only in small details. They reveal the relationship between the two pha ses and in the past have provided some information about the small distorti ons of atomic clusters that occur on going from one phase to the other.
