The coherent and incoherent components of the resonant secondary emission f
rom GaAs quantum well structures after ultrashort excitation have been stud
ied as a function of the excitation density and inhomogeneous broadening. W
e find that the coherent emission saturates with the excitation power in go
od agreement with a simple model taking into account the exciton inhomogene
ous broadening and the excitation induced dephasing.
