Abstract
An analysis of normal modes observed in measurements of reflection, transmi ssion, and true absorption is presented. It is found that individual modes can be identified and sometimes resolved as dips in reflection measurements , and peaks in transmission measurements. The split mode energy "bands" are most easily interpreted in measurements of true absorption.
