We investigate theoretically the spatial and temporal evolution of optical
excitations in a chain of coupled identical semiconductor three-dimensional
microresonators (photonic dots), whose frequency is neat the exciton-polar
iton resonance in each dot. We show that the optical excitation of a single
dot in a chain will be transferred laterally to neighboring dots with velo
cities, depending on the exciton-photon detuning, Rabi frequency (character
izing the exciton-polariton effect) and the overlap integrals between the p
hotonic modes in neighboring dots.
