The laser induced fluorescence (LIF) excitation spectrum of DCO ((B) over t
ilde (2)A' <-- (X) over tilde (2)A') has been investigated in a supersonic
free jet expansion. Eleven vibrational bands including the origin band were
observed in the energy range from 38 600 to 42 500 cm(-1). The band intens
ities were found to decrease rapidly with increasing excitation in the (B)
over tilde state due to fast predissociation. High resolution spectra were
recorded for the (000), (001), (010) and (100) vibrational bands to determi
ne precise fundamental vibrational term energies and rotational constants a
nd spin-rotation constants of the (B) over tilde state. The data were used
to derive the following structural parameters for DCO ((B) over tilde): r(D
-C) = 1.121(6) Angstrom, r(C-O) = 1.371(1) Angstrom and (DCO) = 105.1(2)deg
rees.
