G. Snell et al., Angular distribution measurements of the xenon N4,5O2,3O2,3 Auger electrons: Determination of alignment and intrinsic parameters - art. no. 042709, PHYS REV A, 6104(4), 2000, pp. 2709
In the framework of the two-step model of Auger decay the alignment of the
xenon 4d(-1) primary hole states has been derived as a function of photon e
nergy. This quantity was obtained from angular distribution measurements of
the N4,5O2,3O2,3 Auger lines after ionization of free atoms by monochromat
ized synchrotron radiation of 80-250 eV photon energy. The data show a mini
mum of the alignment parameter in the Cooper minimum of the 4d photoionizat
ion cross section, which proves the vanishing of the outgoing epsilon f ele
ctron wave. Furthermore, the intrinsic parameters for all lines in this Aug
er group were determined and are compared with previous experiments and cal
culations.
