Abstract
We present analytic expressions of the Coulomb interaction between spherica l and deformed nuclei which are valid for all separation distances. We demo nstrate their significant deviations from commonly used formulas in the reg ion inside the Coulomb radius, and show that they remove various shortcomin gs of the conventional formulas.
