Abstract
Catechol reacted with beta-methallyl chloride in the presence of base and p hase transfer catalyst under microwave irradiation and gave 2-methallyloxyp henol within 1 similar to 2 minutes. The yield of 2-methallyloxyphenol vari ed from 64%similar to 68%.
