Abstract
Treatment of 2-benzothiopyrylium salt with alkenes such as styrene, p-methy lstyrene, p-methoxystyrene, alpha-methylstyrene, and trans-anethole afforde d the corresponding [4(+)+2]-type polar cycloaddition products, respectivel y.
