In air-jet weaving, weft insertion time depends on the characteristics and
properties of the weft yam. Because deviations of properties within bobbins
exist, a control system is sometimes required to obtain a sufficiently eve
n arrival time of the weft yam. This paper presents a new control strategy
to obtain a more constant arrival time over the bobbin. The control strateg
y is illustrated and tested using a Monte Carlo simulation. For this purpos
e, a mathematical model for weft insertion on air-jet looms is developed. T
he new control strategy shows good results.
