Abstract
Planar chiral 2- and 3-bicymantrenylcarbaldehydes can be resolved to e nantiomers through Schiff's bases with (S)-(-)-alpha-phenylethylamine. Optically active derivatives of bicymantrenyl with Me and CH2OH subst ituents were synthesized from (-)-3-bicymantrenylcarbaldehyde. The abs olute configuration. of Schiff's base obtained from (+)-3-bicymantreny lcarbaldehyde was determined by X-ray diffraction analysis.
