We studied a case of olfactory neuroblastoma by noting I-123-metaiodobenzyl
guanidine (MIBG) uptake revealed by single-photon emission CT (SPECT), MR i
maging revealed an enhancing tumor extending from the left nasal cavity to
the bilateral anterior frontal cranial fossae, SPECT revealed high I-123-MI
BG uptake in the enhancing tumor. SPECT-revealed I-123-MIBG uptake appears
to be clinically useful for distinguishing olfactory neuroblastomas from ot
her tumors, especially suprasellar meningiomas.
