Abstract
We present a discontinuous Galerkin matrix-free formulation for the compres sible Navier-Stokes equations and the viscous MHD equations based on spectr al/hp hybrid element discretization. We first review the formulation and su bsequently present convergence results for an Euler how as well as simulati on results. The simulation results presented are flow past a NACA 0012 airf oil at Re = 10,000 including some preliminary 3D simulations, and a 2D MHD flow - the so-called Orszag-Tang vortex problem, (C) 2000 IMACS.
