Abstract
The article briefly reviews recent published data on neuronal Ca2+ stores a nd their InsP(3) receptors. The InsP(3) receptor is a Ca2+ releasing channe l that allows Ca2+ release in response to the binding of InsP(3). Several g enes, which share extensive structural homology, encode the InsP(3) recepto r. The InsP(3) is modulated in a complex way by various cellular components . The regulation of InsP(3) is important in several aspects of cellular cal cium signalling.
