Ground-state properties of Pr isotopes are studied in a framework of the re
lativistic mean-field (RMF) theory using the recently proposed parameter se
t TMI. Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (BCS) approximation and blocking method is
adopted to deal with pairing interaction and the odd nucleon, respectively
. The pairing forces are taken to be isospin dependent. The domain of the v
alidity of the BCS theory and the positions of neutron and proton drip line
s are studied. It is shown that RMF theory has provided a Good description
of the binding energy, isotope shifts and deformation of nuclei over a larg
e range of Pr isotopes, which are in good agreement with those obtained ii,
the finite-range droplet model.
