Abstract
We consider above-threshold ionization of inert gases within the frame work of the Keldysh-Faisal-Reiss model. However, we represent the stat e of the ionized electron by a more precise Coulomb-Volkov wave functi on. Thus we find sidelobes in the angular distribution of the emitted electrons at about the right high nonlinear orders and in the correct angular range as found experimentally for inert gases.
