Abstract
Social Science research, especially in the field of health, is increasingly bringing to public scrutiny, areas of people's lives that would otherwise have remained private. This poses ethical questions which need to be resolv ed. Well-defined ethical guidelines, accepted by professional bodies, would provide a framework for locating and resolving ethical dilemmas and also p rompt a concern for ethical issues ira professional research and discourse.
