Abstract
The dual probe-fed patch technique, which is used to suppress unwanted prob e radiation in wideband probe-fed microstrip patches, is extended for the c ase of a balanced two-patch subarray. To demonstrate this technique two S-b and microstrip arrays were fabricated: with and without the balanced two-pa tch sub-arrays. The balanced array showed a reduction in the cross-polarisa tion peak level by nearly 10dB. The unwanted radiation is effectively suppr essed (20dB cross-polarisation isolation) over a bandwidth of greater than 6.3%.
