Abstract
The relation between a series of solid phase formation of chemical com pounds, their thermodynamic stability, and the phase diagram of a part icular multiphase binary system is analyzed. Correlation rules are fou nd for predicting the most likely course that the formation of chemica l layers by a reaction couple A-B might take.
