Abstract
We present the results of a calorimetric investigation of the enthalpi es of mixing in Ge-Zr and Ge-Nb systems at 1973 K in the range 0 to 22 at. %. We show that alloy formation in these systems is accompanied b y a large exothermic effect. This is connected with the large influenc e of binary intermetallic compounds in the Ge-Zr and Ge-Nb systems.
