Abstract
This article gives an overview of recent developments in cardiac ultrasound for the general hospital physician, If discusses contrast echocardiography , harmonic imaging, three-dimensional echocardiography, Doppler tissue imag ing and perfusion imaging and give an outlook on future perspectives.
