A new heterobimetallic palladium-[60]fullerene complex with bidentate bis-1,1 '-[P](2)-ferrocene ligand

A new heterobimetallic palladium-[60]fullerene complex with ferrocene bis-p hosphine ligand was prepared using alternative paths: either via addition r eaction of Pd-2(dba)(3). C6H6 (dba = dibenzylidenacetone) in the presence o f 1,1 '-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene (dppf) to C-60, or via electrochemi cal activation of C-60 to generate C-60(2-) anions, which then react with P dCl2 and dppf to yield the target complex. The obtained (eta(2)-C-60)Pd(dpp f) complex was characterized by H-1- and P-31-{H-1}-NMR and electronic spec troscopy as well as electrochemically. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science S.A. All r ights reserved.
