S. Nelson et al., THE DEMOGRAPHICS OF DR WALKER,GEOFFREY CEPHALOMETRIC COLLECTION, American journal of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, 111(6), 1997, pp. 646-649
The Bolton-Brush Growth Study Center (BBGSC) at Case Western Reserve U
niversity recently acquired the radiographic collection of Geoffrey F.
Walker, an orthodontist, anthropologist, and pioneer computer expert.
Dr. Walker's culturally diverse collection on more than 1500 persons
has added lateral and frontal cephalograms to the Bolton-Brush collect
ion. In contrast to the longitudinal Bolton-Brush study, the Walker co
llection contains predominantly cross-sectional samples of various tri
bes and ethnic groups around the world. A computerized index (similar
to the Bolton-Brush index) has been created for efficient access. The
addition of this unique collection enhances the BBGSC's ability to ser
ve as a resource for orthodontic students, researchers, and practition
ers, as well as the physical anthropology community.
