Moisture-curing alkoxysilane-functionalized isocyanurate coatings

An aminosilane functionalized isocyanurate of 1,6-hexamethylene diisocyanat e (HDI isocyanurate) was used to formulate coatings. The coatings ware form ulated using a mixture of the silane-functionalized isocyanurate and the un functionalized HDI isocyanurate. The general coating properties and tensile properties were evaluated as a function of alkoxysilane modified isocyanur ate. in addition, the thermo-mechanical and rheological properties of the f ilms were also investigated. The moisture-curing process was investigated u sing FT-IR and NMR. The results indicates that alkoxysilane-functionalized isocyanurate dramatically enhances the adhesion and increases the crosslink density.
