Abstract
The microscopic and atomic structures of some Ni- and Fe-based metallic gla sses studied by applying wide and small angle neutron scattering techniques are described. The glasses have been produced by rapid quenching from melt s in different thermodynamic states. A strong influence of the production c onditions, particularly the thermodynamic state of the melt before quench, on the structure and on the microstructure is observed.
