Abstract
The phylogenetic relationship between Epicoccum nigrum and Phoma epicoccina has been assessed by means of sequencing of the ITS regions of rDNA. The a nalysis of the sequences from five isolates of E. nigrum and four of P. epi coccina suggests that both entities represent the same biological species.
