A one parameter, thermodynamic solution model that presumes significan
t ternary interactions is given. The model predicts phase diagrams tha
t contain isolated, multiphase miscibility gaps. A numerical example o
f a ternary system shows that three-phase miscibility gaps form and th
en combine as the temperature is lowered. The critical lines associate
d with the gaps have three maxima, three minima and three tricritical
points.
