Abstract
In a continuous flow reactor with static mixing elements of Sulzer-type, th e solution copolymerization of methyl methacrylate(MMA) and styrene (S) was analysed experimentally and the results compared with a theoretical model. Two monomers ratios (MMA : S) were used: 1/1 by weight (MMA-S) and 7/3 by weight (MMA-S). The monomers: solvent, ratio in all experiments, was 1:1 (b y weight). The experimental data, monomers conversion and molecular weights distribution are compared with the predictions of the reactor mathematical model.
