Abstract
The C15-C28 portion of altohyrtins (spongistatins) was prepared in a conver gent manner from methyl (S)-3-hydroxy-2-methylpropionate, D-arabitol, and d iacetone-D-glucose via dithiane couplings with epoxides as the key segment coupling process. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
