Abstract
Temperature modulated differential scanning calorimetry (TMDSC) data are si mulated through the glass transition region using the Tool-Narayanaswamy-Mo ynihan (TNM) model of structural recovery. The simulated data are analyzed using a fast Fourier transform similar to conventional Temperature-modulate d differential scanning calorimetry techniques. The glass transition temper ature (T-g) and enthalpy of aging (Delta H-a) were calculated from the simu lated data and compared with the values expected based on linear isothermal simulations for the case of the glass temperature and based on the input s imulated data for Delta H-a. The errors associated with the TMDSC data anal ysis were thus quantified. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserv ed.
