Abstract
The films deposited from plasma-activated vapors of the thermal decompositi on products of poly(propylene) were studied by electron energy loss spectro scopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, electron diffraction, and electron microscopy techniques. The films with thicknesses exceeding 500 Angstrom a re continuous and exhibit a quite smooth surface. The films structure repre sents a hydrocarbon matrix with a density of 1.1-1.3 g/cm(3) and disperse i nclusions of higher density, probably, with a diamondlike structure. The co ntent of inclusions does not exceed 10 wt %.
