Abstract
The management of cardiac arrhythmias has changed dramatically over the pas t decade with improved understanding of arrhythmia mechanisms and applicati on of revolutionary therapies, including radiofrequency ablation and the im plantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD). The rapid advancement in arrhyt hmia management has been fueled by evidence-based medicine, which helps to clarify optimal approaches to management. This review will touch on the hig hlights of recent changes in our understanding of arrhythmia mechanisms and management.
