G. Wolfram, Reference values of DGE, OGE, SGE, and SVE for nutrient intake, 1(st) ed. 2000 - List of, and comments upon changes, ERNAHR UMSC, 47(3), 2000, pp. 80
For the first time the 'Reference values for nutrient intake' are published
jointly by the Societies of Nutrition in Germany (DGE), Austria (OGE) and
Switzerland (SGE, SVE) for the German speaking countries. These reference v
alues are the continuation of the booklet 'Recommendations on Nutrient Inta
ke' which was published first in 1956 and was regularly updated and revised
by the DGE at several years intervals; the 5(th) edition, published by Ums
chau Verlag in 1991, is the last one. It contained recommendations, estimat
ed values and guideline values for 36 nutrients on 160 pages. The present '
Reference Values for nutrient intake' contain recommendations, estimated va
lues and guideline values for 37 nutrients on 244 pages, including nearly 6
00 quotations from the scientific literature. New is the differentiation be
tween nutritive and preventive aspects of nutrients and food components.
