Abstract
This review article discusses and documents the basic philosophies, concept s and current advances in the field of mu-TAS development, with special emp hasis on applications in the arena of biosciences. After a brief overview o f miniaturization theory and fabrication techniques, areas of microfluidic component development, detection protocols, biochemical assays, and integra ted biological analyses are addressed.
