Abstract
The self-diffusion coefficient and viscosity of metals, Group IVA and VA el ements, oxygen, neon, and argon at the melting point were expressed through the basic properties of the elements (atomic weight; density; melting temp erature; and atomic, covalent, or ionic radius). The temperature dependence of the self-diffusion coefficient was established for melts. Possible mech anisms of diffusion in the liquid phase were discussed.
