We describe a patient with infected pancreatic necrosis who was treated suc
cessfully with minimally invasive surgery. Five weeks after an episode of a
cute uncomplicated pancreatitis, he was found to have infected pancreatic n
ecrosis and splenic vein thrombosis. The patient underwent a laparoscopic p
ancreatic necrosectomy, splenectomy, and cholecystectomy, Seven days after
surgery, the patient was discharged and continued to be asymptomatic for th
e 6 months of follow-up.
