The experience of a community hospital in quantifying and reducing patientfalls

A retrospective review of patient falls in a 248-bed acute-care community h ospital was conducted in order to quantify the number of patient falls and identify what factors resulted in these falls. The author reports these res ults and describes specific measures that were implemented in an attempt to reduce the number of falls in the organization.
