The evaluation is underway of a time-lapse 3D seismic (4D) in the Greater B
urgan Field. This evaluation is in two parts, conventional processing in th
e time domain up to time migration for predictability (repeatability in the
broad sense) where the monitoring attribute is amplitude and evaluation fo
r fluid movements in the acoustic impedance domain where the monitoring qua
ntity, acoustic impedance, is used to quantify saturation changes.
The conventional time-domain processing, which relates to amplitude and pha
se only, indicated high predictability values throughout the processing seq
uence, which show that the two surveys were acquired and processed in a con
sistent manner and that the data are very repeatable in the broad sense. Th
e acoustic domain processing is still ongoing.
