Abstract
Cost data and bridge property data were collected fur 121 timber bridges co nstructed as demonstration projects and for 206 timber bridges that were no t demonstration projects. After controlling for selected structural and reg ional independent variables, demonstration bridge superstructures were appr oximately $120 per square meter more expensive than nondemonstration bridge superstructures.
